Channel 1 Basin

Channel 1A2 Channel and Water Quality Improvements - 49th Street to 52nd Street North – Construction for this project is underway and is expected to be completed by April 2022. The project includes approximately 900 linear feet of reinforced concrete channel lining and approximately 300 linear feet of reinforced concrete box culverting to repair significant channel erosion and sloughing. Improving water quality in the channel is a nutrient separating baffle box (NSBB) with adsorption media along with a shallow grassy swale above the box culvert. The project is cooperatively funded by the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD).
