Pinellas Park Water Management District
Channel 1 Basin
Channel 1C Renewal, Phase 1 – Design and permitting to repair approximately 680 linear feet of Channel 1C is complete. Construction is set to commence in Fiscal Year 2022. This project is part of a long-term, three-phase project to repair Channel 1C from its confluence with Channel 1 to the headwaters at 98th Avenue North.
Channel 1 Concrete Channel Replacement West of 66th Street North – 100% design and permitting is complete for the repair of approximately 1,000 linear feet of Channel 1 west of 66th Street North. In general, the project will replace failed concrete panels in close proximity to townhomes and other properties with sheet piles. Construction is expected to begin in January 2022. The project area provides drainage for approximately 3 square miles in the Channel 1 basin.
Channel 2 Basin
Channel 2E Repair at 101st Terrace North – 100% design and permitting is complete for the repair of approximately 900 linear feet of Channel 2E north of The Mainlands of Tamarac. Construction is expected to begin in January 2022 and will utilize rip rap to reinforce the failing channel banks. The project is necessary to protect residential properties along the channel and to maintain stormwater level-of-service.
Channel 4 Basin
Channel 4 Panel Replacement at 58th Avenue North – 100% design and permitting is underway to replace approximately 200 linear feet of failed concrete panels constructed over 40 years ago. This project is being implemented to continue to provide the necessary level-of-service for residents and businesses in the Channel 4 basin. Construction is expected to begin in Fiscal Year 2022.
